So this time last year I had surgery on my leg. After my leg surgery I had to be on a walker for a while. Pressure on my wrist from using my walker led me to get tendonitis in my wrist. I went to an orthopedic surgeon a few times and got the steroid shots for that. Well, recently my tendonitis flared up again but I have already had the maximum steroid shots so now I will be having surgery on my wrist. My surgery is scheduled for Thursday (and I’m praying for it to happen; I’m having MORE insurance problems, but I am seriously praying that the insurance gets figured out and my surgery goes as planned for Thursday, but that’s another story!), and I currently have my right thumb and wrist in a splint. So that’s injury #1.
Yesterday I received injury #2. Austin had to work all day and we had a date night planned for that evening. Well, the yard HAD to be mowed and I knew that Austin wouldn’t have time to mow it before our date, so I went out to mow the grass. Our old lawn mower broke a few weeks ago, and I used our new lawn mower to mow the grass. This new lawn mower is a self-propelled lawn mower (which I’ve never used before) and went SUPER fast. So I’m out by the road, mowing the grass by the curb, and the lawn mower is speeding down the road… and I stepped off the curb and my ankle twisted under me. Yup, injury #2…
A neighbor across the street just happened to drive home while I was lying in the road crying, so he helped me to our porch. Then his wife came home and helped me inside. Because of our current lack of insurance, I had my personal doctor (AKA Austin) fix me up when he got home a little while later. Last night I couldn’t put any pressure on my foot at all, and it hurt so, SO much, but I prayed like CRAZY for it to be better today. Today I needed to do our Relief Society bulletin board, plus we had our Visiting Teaching Conference, plus Makenna was saying her first prayer in Primary so I really needed to be at Church today. Austin had to work again today, so I REALLY needed to be better.
I am excited to report that today I have been able to walk (or hobble) on my foot! It’s still swollen and black and blue and it hurts like crazy, but I can walk people! AND I made it to Church, without Austin, and got everything accomplished that I needed to.
Anyway, I’m rambling. Here are some pictures:

It hurts. Now I have an ankle in a wrap and a wrist and thumb in a splint. Yes, I’m falling apart. Hopefully my ankle will be better by my surgery on Thursday!
