A bunch of videos

Well, Makenna has been sick these last few days (again!), but this time she got pneumonia! She is feeling better now though. We have taken a few videos over the past few days and decided that tonight would be a good time to post them. Enjoy!!

This one is of Makenna dancing to Daddy whistling.

This is in the back of our Explorer. It is pretty dark and hard to see, but this is from our ward Trunk-or-Treat.

This is another video from our Trunk-or-Treat. You can see Makenna a little better in this one. Makenna and Pam were dressed up as a queen and princess and I was dressed up as a king. You can see Makenna's costume pretty good in this video. Pam's mom made the costumes and mailed them to us. They were super! I just feel bad we didn't get to wear them for more than just an hour or two.

This video is just a funny video of Makenna dancing to the music on TV. Watch her shake her little booty!!

This is Makenna again, shaking her groove-thing. She is such a funny little girl. This was just tonight, so you can see that she is feeling better after being so sick. We love you all and thank you for your well-wishes for Makenna.

We went in Makenna's room at nap time today and this is what we found...

She has just started standing up today and already she is standing in her bed. Scary!

Good grief! We have put a ton of pictures on here lately!

Anyway, yesterday I was off (this is my Fall Break) so Austin took off from school and we kept Makenna with us and we went to the zoo! It was such a fabulous day! The weather was hot, but not too hot, and the zoo had several shady places to pause and rest so that was nice. Makenna didn't care about the zoo too much; she was too busy looking at the boys and girls or at her seat belt or the ground, but Austin and I had fun looking at the animals! And Makenna was a perfect angel all day, even without babyfood and a nap, so it was a fantastic day! We took a ton of pictures, but I will just post a few of our favorites:

This is a crazy old baboon. I hated the baboons! Their bums were all red and gross and it made me sick to look at them when they walked around. But this picture is cool!

We were able to go into the little squirrel monkey's "cage" (not really a cage because it was pretty large). The monkeys just ran all around us. We were not allowed to touch them, but they were really right there with us! One of the monkeys was right behind us when Austin snapped this picture, but it's pretty hard to see. The monkeys were smaller than newborn babies!

We went on this out of the way trail to see Bighorn sheep and stuff. It felt like we were out in the middle of the desert! But way off in the distance we captured this picture! We kept thinking this guy was fake because he never moved, just stood on top of the rock! But we looked in the telescope thing and saw him moving around. We guessed he just wanted to be King of the Rock!

This jaguar was so ridiculously beautiful! They said he is just a baby at 6 months, but he is much bigger than our baby! He kept pacing around and seemed angry because these dumb little boys kept running around blowing whistles. The zoo people told them to stop, but they were such naughty children they just kept at it and the mom didn't do anything! I so do not like it when kids are bad and parents do nothing about it! Anyway, this picture doesn't do the jaguar justice! I think it was the most beautiful animal we saw!

I don't remember what this bird was called, but we thought it was so weird because it looks like it has a million beaks on top of each other! At the zoo you walked through very shady areas and there were millions of bird cages and waterfalls and they had mist you could walk through. It felt like you were in the jungle! But there was also a section you walked through and the birds weren't caged. I kept getting scared that I would be attacked!

This is me and Makenna in front of the warthogs. I was suprised that they didn't smell that much!

The flamingos. So strange, only a couple were standing on one leg! Notice that Makenna is more interested in my necklace...

Look how close Austin and Makenna got to the giraffes! Ha ha, and look at how tired our baby looks!

This is back in the monkey cage. I totally missed the monkey. They are too fast!

Now, we had a fabulous day. But this last picture says it all. This is how Makenna felt about the day:

Ha ha, like I said, Makenna was super good and didn't cry or anything all day, even without her nap. But she sure didn't even glance at the animals our whole time there! We just couldn't get her to look up at them! She was too busy studying the ground! But it was so wonderful to get out and about as a family! Our first family outing was a success!

Oh, one more thing (I guess Makenna did cry once!). We went to the gift shop and bought Makenna a little giraffe before we left. She loved it and kept giving it kisses! Well on our way to the car, she dropped it. I picked it up and gave it to her. Well Austin pointed out that it was dirty. So I took it from her to wipe it off. She screamed and cried and through a fit! The second I gave it back to her she stopped crying. Hmm, do you think someone is getting to be a spoiled girl? Ha ha, she has a temper that is for sure!

Okay, I have copied this fun "picture tag" from Janae and Becca. I cheated just a tiny bit... I read about this last night and didn't take the pictures until this morning! But my house is still a mess so I didn't cheat on that part! Here it is:

You have to stop what you are doing and take the following pictures NOW. No excuses! If you don't have time to blog just take the pictures NOW and blog when you can!! No cleaning, re-arranging, just have fun taking the pictures!

1. Kitchen Sink
2. Favorite room
3. Fridge
4. Closet
5. Laundry room
6. Self Portrait
7. What you or your family are doing
8. Dream Vacation
9. Favorite Shoes
10. Bathroom

1. Kitchen Sink: Nice and simple... I hate dirty dishes in the sink so I don't have to worry about that being clean!

2. Favorite room: I guess my favorite room would have to be our living room. Austin and I love to sit on the couch and watch TV or play the Wii or I will read and he will do homework or something. And Makenna has her own little corner with her toys and she can just sit and play for ever! (Ha ha, look at our table; looks like we are a very hydrated family!)

3. Fridge: I don't know, pretty boring... we have some left-overs, giant Costco mayo, and plenty of bottles for Makenna in the door!

4. Closet: This is my and Austin's closet and it is the first closet ever that holds both of our clothes! (Of course after having the baby I donated a lot of clothes to DI because they will never fit again!)

5. Laundry room: Yes, I know, I haven't folded Makenna's laundry from SATURDAY yet! I'm also not going to lie; there are some clothes in the dryer too!

6. Self Portrait: Here is another secret... I went to the gym this morning. Then I came home and started doing some organizational chores and stuff and then Austin and I went out to lunch... and I never showered! Eww! That is my excuse for this picture! I'm sorry!

7. What you or your family are doing: Makenna is taking a nap and Austin is at school. So I'm cuddled on the couch reading a magazine! Aah!

8. Dream Vacation: I couldn't get the blog to upload correctly so I don't have this picture. But I want to go to Disney World!

9. Favorite Shoes: I honestly wear these shoes everywhere: out shopping, to school, to church... no wonder they are getting all scratched up!

10. Bathroom: This is our bathroom.

This is Makenna's/the hall bathroom.

Whew! That was a bit of a headache to get the pictures, put them on the computer, and then fight with the upload but it was fun!

A crawling baby

Well, hello everyone! We have had a rough week here, but I think the good outweighs the bad. I had a big test on Monday (which I passed, thank goodness), then we had to take Makenna to the Emergency Room on Thursday night because she got croup and had a hard time breathing. After a steroid shot and some cool, moist air, she was doing much better. She still has a cough, but seems to be doing better. The big news is what happened this morning. We knew that she would be close to crawling because she finally learned how to move her legs and arms in sync last night. So this morning, we set out to catch it all on video, and that is what we have for your viewing pleasure!

And here is video #2!
