One of Makenna’s birthday presents from Grandma Becky was a new dress to wear to Church. I thought I'd show you a picture, Grandma Becky, of Makenna in her dress. She looked super cute and she LOVES the dress!
I have to write EVERYTHING I have going on in my planner or else I don’t remember to do it. This is a picture of a typical week’s planner for me:
We have a couple of things going on each week, but it’s usually not too busy or full.
Here is a picture of my planner last week:
I felt like it was a pretty busy week and we had quite a bit going on.
This is a picture of my planner this week:
Honestly, out of control busy! We have something almost every hour of every day! I’m not sure why this week is so crazy for us, but here’s hoping my planner stays empty next week so we have time to recuperate!!! I am EXHAUSTED already and it is only Wednesday!
One of the things we had going on today was a field trip with our Play and Learn group. We went roller skating! This was a first for both of the kids, and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
Notice the following picture—Max is in tears and we had only been there for a few minutes!
For some reason, Max has been in just a really clingy, whiney mood lately. He was crying there because he had wanted me to hold him and when I wouldn’t he started to have a tantrum and, well, let’s just say tantrums don’t work too well while wearing roller skates! : )
Eventually he calmed down a little bit and started skating. As you can see, he was wearing the skates that just go over your shoes. He did GREAT in his skates. He actually has super good balance and could skate on his own fairly well.
Poor Makenna, however, was really struggling. Even holding my hand or on to the wall she was falling like crazy.
I ended up switching her skates to the plastic ones as well, and after that she was a pro! She LOVED skating!
Midway through our skate, we had a skating lesson. Learning how to stand up properly while wearing skates:
Then we had a few group dances. Doing the hokey pokey:
By around this point, Max started crying and wanting held again. He cried the entire rest of the time (except for snack time) that we were there. : (
Doing the chicken dance:
Snack time:
Makenna enjoyed skating so much, that she didn’t even want to sit down for snack time! So while all the other kids were eating, she went back out to skate by herself!
It was fun and I’m glad we went!
