Six Years Old!

I cannot believe my oldest baby is six years old! Miss Makenna is truly a joy. She is THE definition of a girly girl. Makenna’s favorite colors are purple and pink. She loves dressing up and clothes and jewelry and nail polish and hair bows and anything and everything “girl.” Her favorite toys are dolls and ponies and babies. She loves to play school and “Frozen.” She enjoys swinging on the swing set and riding her scooter. She loves, loves, LOVES dance and practices stretching and dancing on her own all the time. When she grows up she wants to be a ballet teacher and choreographer.

Makenna loves school and is pretty much a perfect student. She hasn’t ever really got in trouble at school and always gets her school work done with no problems. Her last report card came home as a perfect report card and her teacher said she NEVER gives a perfect report card but Makenna couldn’t do better! Makenna can pretty much read anything and everything and is on a third grade level in reading comprehension. Her teacher has her doing end-of-the-year second grade math right now. Makenna’s favorite “special” (science, PE, music, media center, art) is PE. She has also lately started loving to run. She may be our little athlete after all!

Makenna loves her little brothers and is such a big helper. I do have to get her for being too bossy sometimes, but honestly she does a good job at keeping those little boys in line! ; ) She and Max are always playing together or sitting together or talking with each other. I have honestly never seen two siblings who love each other more than those two! Makenna also loves being a “little mama” to Myles and is always playing with him and kissing and hugging him. She also is really pretty good about helping me with chores and whatnot. I’m so grateful to have her help!

Makenna is in CTR 5 at Church and looks forward to Primary and her class each week. With that and our family scripture studies, Family Home Evenings, and discussions she is really learning the gospel. She loves Heavenly Father and Jesus and we can only pray that she continues on the path she is currently on.

Makenna goes to bed at 7pm each night—although she and Max usually don’t fall asleep until much later (the naughty children!). They get up at 7am in the mornings. She is a fairly good eater and will at least try everything. Here lately she doesn’t eat breakfast as well, but she loves cereal, yogurt, fruit, quesadillas, and pizza. She is a big water drinker. Makenna is still very tall for her age (90th percentile) and skinny for her height.

Makenna is such a great girl and Heavenly Father truly knew what he was doing when he sent her as our oldest. I don’t know what I would do without her! She has her issues like any other kid, but she is a very good little girl. We love you, princess!

Happy sixth birthday, Makenna! We are excited to see what the next year holds!
