Since I have last blogged…

Hmm, what have we been up to since I last blogged?  I dunno actually… It has seemed like we have been way busy, but I’m not sure with what!

Let’s see, we usually get up, have breakfast, and do chores.  Then Makenna watches Caillou and Sesame Street.  Then we go to the park (loving this cooler weather!!!).  Yesterday we tried a new park; the kids seemed to enjoy it!

Makenna climbed up the rope ladder thing all by herself.  I felt like that was very impressive for a 2 1/2 year old!  It seemed very hard to me:

She also got some crazy static electricity in her hair!  The picture just does not do it justice!Makenna-static hair

Max had fun walking around, finding sticks and rocks-- the usual boy stuff!  He also found a little seat perfect for him!

After the park, we head home for lunch and naptimes.  After nap is play dates, trips to the store or library, playing outside, movie time, etc.  We just try to stay busy until Daddy comes home (which is usually with only enough time to give kids dinner and baths and send them to bed).  We haven’t been doing school as much lately because we have been too busy enjoying the nicer weather!  However, I have snapped a few pictures of the kids at “school.”  These are a few of my latest favorites:

Makenna loves painting!

Trying to keep Max busy with other toys:

DSCN1219It usually doesn’t work; he feels the need to be right there in the middle of things!

When he ends up being too much of a problem, we just feed him ; )  (Look at those cute toes curled up under his high chair!)

I love Makenna’s cute little face in these pictures!

Let’s see, other happenings.  We had General Conference.  I thought I was being so prepared—I had plenty of activities, snacks, and so on to keep the kids occupied.  Nope, didn’t work.  They started off as little angels:

(Notice Makenna in her princess dress—she went for DAYS without taking it off!)DSCN1241

But that quickly wore off!  They didn’t enjoy being in the computer room (we don’t have cable so we had to watch on the computer).  Which was fine; go play in the other room.  But they ALSO didn’t enjoy US being in the computer room.  So they basically spent their time whining and throwing a fit and trying to get us all to leave and go play with them.  Needless to say, we didn’t get a whole ton out of Conference this time around!

We also had a pretty nasty storm last week.  We were getting ready to go over to a friends’ house when we heard loud banging noises.  I honestly thought a tree fell on our house—nope, just baseball/softball size hail!

I thought the trees were going to snap in half in the crazy wind and rain!

After the storm we had a PERFECT rainbow!  It honestly looked like someone painted it up there (I guess SOMEONE did, huh ; 0 ).  It went from one edge of the sky to the other.  Absolutely gorgeous.  I wish we had had our real camera with us when we saw it!

Last week I also was able to go to a Girls’ Night Out.  This time we met at Jenn’s house to make Halloween Crafts.  Two of my favorite things:  crafts and GNO!  My camera didn’t really take very good pictures at Jenn’s house (maybe it was the light?  I dunno), so I just took pictures of my crafts after I got home (sorry if I misspelled anyone’s name!):

Kristen’s Craft (ribbon covered handles on Halloween bucket—and a surprise!):

DSCN1272  It was such a fun night and now my house is decorated for Halloween!  We have plans to do a craft night every month; by the time we move in June I’m going to have tons of seasonal decorations! : )

So that’s our week! I think I got all of my pictures from this week in here! : D

Car Show

This weekend we randomly found a car show.  It was more Austin’s thing, but it was still fun to walk around looking at the cars.  Austin took this picture with his phone:

Notice our children (in their stroller) are not as tall as the WHEELS on this truck!  Also notice that this truck is parked OVER another truck… yeah, it was big! : )

National Museum Day

Saturday was National Museum Day so we were able to get free tickets to the Challenger Space Museum.  I have to admit—not so much fun.  It was tiny and SUPER crowded and definitely over the kids heads… oh well, we got cute pictures anyway! : )

They had a huge mural on the wall.  The kids liked the dinosaurs best!

Peter Piper Pizza

Last week we headed to Peter Piper Pizza for their all-you-can-eat buffet and to use up the tokens we bought last time.  The kids LOVE playing at arcades!  Sorry, we didn’t take very many pictures!

Makenna and Mommy playing “Deal or No Deal.”  Makenna picked the cases and won us 100+ tickets! : )

Max on the pony.  This is seriously a favorite of both kids:

Only three pictures, but lots of fun!

School--Ocean

Last week I didn’t get around to sharing our themed school unit from 2 Teaching Mommies.  We studied the ocean.  Here are just a few of the things we did:

Makenna matched sea creatures to their shadows:

Made an “O is for Octupus”:
