Vegas or Bust, Baby!

So, I honestly have horrible jet lag. I’m not sure why; Michigan is only a 3 hour time difference from Arizona… but I just can’t get my sleep schedule rearranged! So this morning I was up at 4:15… yeah, not so fun! Makenna then got up at 6, but the boys didn’t follow suit until 7 (and we had to wake Max up even then!). Anyway, we got ready for the day, got everything packed up, and went and had breakfast. Then the kids left with Grandma Becky, Uncle Trevor, and Aunt Melissa for their 12 + hour drive to Idaho. Seriously, I was pretty sad to see my kiddos leaving me. I know they will be in the BEST of hands, and I am really excited to have some alone time with my hubby, but “MY BABIES!!!” : D You know how we overly-emotional moms are! Max said to me, "Don't cry about it, Mom. Water will come out of your eyes and get us wet!" And then, as we were giving the kids ONE LAST KISS as they were getting in their carseats, Makenna said, "Okay, okay, can you shut the car door?” So obviously the kids aren’t going to miss US as much as we are going to miss THEM!!!

After the kids and the family were off, Austin and I checked out of the hotel and left for our trip to Las Vegas!

When we arrived in Vegas, we checked into our hotel (which has a nice big kitchen and livingroom and should be SO perfect for our stay!) and then went on a walk down the Strip. (By the way, it is SO hot already here in Vegas!) We just walked around and did a little bit of sight seeing and then went to dinner at The Hard Rock Café. Dinner was supper yummy and I FINALLY got my fruity slushie drink that I have been craving forever! : ) After dinner we went to the grocery store to pick up more water, snacks, and things for lunches while we are here, and then came back to our hotel room. We talked to the kids for a while (they were still traveling to Idaho, but seemed to be doing well!), and then did some relaxing. We were SO tired! Honestly, we are such fuddy duds to be in Las Vegas and go to bed at 8:30… but that’s what we did! Ha ha hopefully the rest of our trip will be a little more action packed! : )
