This morning we decided to try something new. Instead of just giving our kids their Easter baskets, we decided to have them follow clues to find them! We had never done anything like this with the kids, and I was surprised by how much they loved it! I think it will definitely be a tradition-keeper!
We started off by reading a note “from” the Easter bunny, telling about the hunt. Max was SO excited, even though I don’t think he knew what in the world I was talking about!
Makenna knew though! “Come on, Mom! It’s in your closet!”
Can you see the egg? Makenna sure couldn’t! (And excuse the mess—closets aren’t really meant to be seen by others!)
There it is! In mom’s shoe!
Reading the next clue:
In the microwave!
I have to smile as I look at how raptly she was listening to me read the next clue!
Notice the trusty side-kick standing behind with the bag. He basically just followed Makenna and collected the eggs after she found them!
“See Dad! I found the eggs!”
More clues to read (and yes, Makenna really does have jewelry and hair bows on at 7 am every morning!):
Ha ha, this is SO exciting!
After this last egg, we paused a minute to talk about Jesus and what Easter was really about. And then it was on to the final clue—and the Easter baskets!
SUCH a fun activity! Honestly, they enjoyed the hunt more than the actual baskets! : )

Fun! Our Easter Bunny hides their baskets too, but we've never done a hunt to find the baskets. Great idea!
What a good idea! I was boring and just put them on the couch for our kids this year! Too many visitors and craziness for me to be creative! Maybe next year:)
