Playgroup Easter Egg Hunt

This morning’s playgroup was a super fun Easter Egg Hunt and potluck (How proud are you that this happened THIS MORNING and I am already blogging about it! ha ha).  Each child had to previously bring ten-filled eggs and then today the kids got to each go and find ten eggs!  (Does that sentence make sense at all?  I fill like it’s a jumbled mess, but I’m not sure how better to explain it!) After all of the eggs were found, we had a yummy potluck lunch.  Very fun!

Miss Makenna is now a PRO at Easter Egg hunts!  I guess after three years of them (not counting the one right after she was born!), she finally has it!  She very quickly found ten eggs.

Mr. Max was quite a bit slower.  He wanted to investigate what was INSIDE each egg before he went on to find more.  And if he didn’t like the filling, he would just drop that egg back on the ground!

My leg was getting pretty achy from following the kids around, so I sent Makenna to help Max (and try to speed up the process!).  Here she was saying, “Umm, Max!  Here is an egg!” Duh! : )

Soon they each found ten eggs and were ready to go see what was inside them!

Makenna was soooo impressed with the chocolate covered bunny she found in one egg!  She was so excited, in fact, that as soon as she opened it, she dropped it on the ground. : ( Good thing she had nine more eggs!

I had to follow behind Max, who was leaving a trail of eggs behind him!  I kept telling him, “Pick up your basket!  You are dropping eggs!” And of course, as he dropped them, other kids thought THEY had just found more eggs! : )

After the hunt, the kids played on the playground for a while.  I thought this picture of Makenna was so funny.  She had a bug temporarily land on her hand and she FREAKED OUT.  Ha ha, she is SUCH a girl!

After getting a chance to play, we had a fun potluck, picnic lunch with our friends.  Before we left, I tried to get the kids to get their pictures made with their baskets.  Here is cutie-pie Makenna:

And Max is… no where!  He REFUSED to hold his basket or get his picture made.  In fact, all of a sudden, he tossed himself on the ground crying.  Obviously, nap time! Oh well, it was still a very fun morning! : )
