This morning we woke up to find gifts from our Valentine.
(Doesn’t Max look SO different now without his glasses? He doesn’t even look like himself without them now!)
Austin picked out and bought everything on his own. I think it is SO cute when Dads do the holiday shopping! Both kids (and mom!!!) absolutely loved their Valentine’s from Dad!
In fact, Makenna didn’t take off her leg warmers and Fancy Nancy shoes ALL day!
I think Dad knows her too well! : )
This morning we had Preschool at our house.
Our theme is “Love Our Pets” so the kids played with different animals while waiting on all of their friends to arrive.
Our letter this week is the letter C, so they glued “cotton balls” on their C.
Later for snack we had animal crackers and goldfish (Makenna picked these out at the grocery store to go with our pet unit.):
Making their puppy dog faces:
During charades, Makenna pretended to be a frog:
And we never could figure out what Max was… and couldn’t understand what he was saying when he told us… Ha ha, so Max is Max! : )
Working on fine motor skills by lacing a heart:
Right after school, Moms and little siblings joined us and our preschool friends for a Valentine’s Day party.
We began our party by reading a few Valentine’s Day books.
Then we played BINGO:
And decorated mailboxes:
There is no mailbox-decorating pictures of Mr. Max because he stuck one sticker on his mailbox and called it good. : )
After we got everything cleaned up, we decorated sugar cookies.
Then it was lunch time!
I kind of copped out with our lunch and just served pb & j sandwiches. To try to jazz them up a little, I did cut the bread into heart shapes:
And served the moms chicken salad sandwiches and a strawberry salad:
We also had yogurt (strawberry to go with our RED theme):
Veggies with ranch in red cups:
And kiwi and pineapple (also shaped like hearts):
For dessert we had an assortment of candy:
After lunch, we finished up our party with a Valentine exchange:
Thanks for joining us for a little party, friends!
After the party, the kids gave ME a Valentine by taking nice, long naps. : ) This also gave me time to recuperate from having both Preschool and a Preschool party. : ) It was a fun day!
