Friday was Austin’s 28th birthday. It was also his last day in Tucson! The month is over!!! So Friday evening, he was able to come home for good! Woo hoo!
Because it was his birthday, Makenna wanted to make cupcakes for him. She made them almost completely by herself. That was her first time to do that much on her own! And since it was her first time, I decided to take pictures to document it and show Austin!
I did pour the mix into the bowl for her, but then she added the water by herself:
And the oil:
I helped a LITTLE with the eggs (I mostly just fished out the egg shells from the bowl, ha ha):
Then she had to stir:
She had to stir for two minutes! By the end of the two minutes she was saying, “Mom, will you do it?!?”
But then she was very proud of herself for finishing it!
Looks pretty yummy! She is also the one that picked out confetti cupcakes. : )
Then it was time to pour the batter in the pans. She thought this part was pretty hard.
The finished product! Ha ha, I couldn’t find my “2” candle so we had to make do with two actual candles. : )
The SECOND Austin got home she HAD to show him her cupcakes she made for him and we had to sing to him!
Later that night we were able to go out on a double date with our friends the Larsons. We ate dinner at Outback (Austin loves steak!) and then we went to play minature golf. I, for one, had a great Austin’s-birthday! ; ) I’m hoping he did too. Love you birthday boy! : )
