Wellness Event

On Thursday night, our insurance hosted a wellness event to encourage a healthier lifestyle for families. I thought it sounded fun, so we went.

Things started off with a presentation. During the presentation, some kids won “prizes.” Here is Makenna with her prize—broccoli!!!

Max was actually JEALOUS that he didn’t win the broccoli (can I add that neither of them will actually even eat vegetables?), so we let him take a picture with it as well:

Afterwards, there were a lot of activities put on by our insurance and Radio Disney. Right off the bat, Makenna got picked to come on stage and participate in a game! It was a relay race to see which team got the most fruits and veggies for their team.

Her team won! She won a Monster’s University tshirt!

Well by this point poor little Max was pretty sad that Makenna kept being chosen to win prizes, so we took him over and let him spin a wheel and answer a question.

He was so excited when he won a jump rope!

He didn’t even care that Makenna won a jump rope too. : )

Next they got to go and color pictures.

Then the kids went and got tattoos (only we told them they were stickers because we don’t get tattoos!):

For the rest of the time we watched the games on stage and the kids danced to the music they had playing. They were so cute out there dancing! I loved watching them—they were not shy at all!

We left a little unhappy, however. Max REALLY wanted to get picked to go on stage to compete in one of the games, but they kept over looking him and picking other people! Well then people from the community kept coming in (it was held at the community center, but it was supposed to be for our insurance members only and we had to register to attend and sign in when we got there and everything) and THOSE kids kept being picked to play in the games. Seriously, these kids were wearing athletic clothes or swimsuits and didn’t even have parents with them, how did they not realize they weren’t supposed to be there?!? So poor Max NEVER got chosen and was upset. And then I got so irritated and frustrated by it that we left and then Makenna was sad because we left. So it was a fun evening, but the way it ended put a damper on it for all of us! : (
