Oh man, I wasn’t the best blogger this week because I didn’t take very many pictures at all! Sorry! ; )
But here goes with our weekly recap:
On Monday we went to our Play and Learn. This week’s theme was “Sing A Song.” So, you guessed it, we sang a lot of songs! : D We also created Sunshine puppets and music shakers.
Sunshine Puppets:
Shakers:
I love their expressions while they are hard at work—so serious!
On Tuesday we decided not to go to the beach because it was dark and cloudy and rain was predicted. Instead we took pictures of the kids with their puppets they made the day before. : D
I think Makenna’s Sunshine is AWESOME! She colored it, then cut out the little rays by herself, and then did all of the gluing by herself. I think it is great for an all-by-myself-3-year-old project!
I’m going to put a lot of the pictures of Max on here. His Sunshine wasn’t necessarily anything exciting, but his pictures are hilarious!
Oh man, that kid cracks me up!
On Wednesday we planned to make up our beach day. But after we got there, we realized that with the wind blowing it was FREEZING! We only lasted about 10 minutes before we decided to leave and play with friends and have a picnic in the park. That ended up being fun, but I sure wish we’d realized how chilly it was before we drove all the way to the beach!
On Thursday, we had planned on attending a “Reading with Preschoolers” class, but I was only on the waiting list for the childcare. So Thursday morning we called and found out that we weren’t going to fit into the class. : ( Boo! So we stayed home instead and the kids FAUGHT all day! See, when we don’t have anything planned, we don’t have as fun of a day! I need help entertaining my kids when we don’t have an outside activity going on I guess!
Friday we had our park day and it was mucho fun. Makenna had all of her little girl friends to play with and honestly would have stayed there, perfectly content, all day long. Max, however, didn’t really have anyone to play with (where are all the little boys in our ward?!?), so he got bored of it all pretty quickly and had to come and sit with me and the other moms. : ) It was still super fun though!
On Saturday, we ran errands all morning. Seriously, Costco, then Sam’s Club, and then the Grocery Store—I was POOPED when we finished shopping and after I put all of those groceries away! We basically stocked up for the whole month, ha ha. Then last night Austin had all of the residents over for a BBQ. It started raining, so we ended up having to move it all inside. It was a bit awkward, not knowing any of them. They also didn’t have kids and only one of them is married (well, there is a resident with a family in our ward, but they are still on vacation), but it was still fun to get to finally put a face to all of the names I hear about daily! And the kids had fun running around being the center of attention the whole night.
Last week Austin and I were called to be Primary teachers at church. Today is our first day teaching our class (CTR 7) and then after church we are having friends over for dinner. So today should be a great day!
Now to just finish out the post, here are two more Makenna hairstyles:
Okay, boring post. I’ll do better next week! : )

I swear I keep saying this on every post of yours, but Max is getting to be such a big boy! I'll hardly recognize him-and Makenna!- when we see you at Graduation...which is sneaking up closer and closer. Yay!!
